​Established a team that produces sponsored content solutions and niche publications for more than 100 products responsible for over $10 million in revenue annually

 

Key responsibilities

  • Create revenue-generating content plans from idea to inception in categories including retail, senior lifestyles, real estate, special events, dining, higher education, and non-profit organizations

  • Work with advertising clients and agencies to develop branded, native and advertorial content strategies that engage readers, effectively market brands, and meet Tribune editorial standards

  • Plan production calendar and manage workflow ensuring daily deadlines are achieved

  • Manage full-time staff of an editor, a graphic designer and three contingent editors and an art director

  • Develop and maintain a freelancer pool of over 20 editors, artists, photographers and writers

  • Oversee digital implementation of all special advertising print sections

  • Assign and edit stories, photos, and layouts; review all content produced by my team prior to publication

  • Work with advertising clients to develop branded, native and advertorial content strategies that engage readers, effectively market brands, and meet Tribune editorial standards

Accomplishments

  • Implemented company’s largest and successful branded content strategy for Menards – a $500K annual campaign that includes articles, videos, infographics and DIY crafts

  • Transitioned more than 100 special advertising print and digital content projects to Tribune Brand Publishing after company’s acquisition of the Sun-Times Suburban Media Group

  • Integrated staff to new national team after a company-wide reorganization; assessed then shifted staffing to expand bandwidth while trimming expenses

  • Grew division from a single person to a staff of as many as 6 direct reports, expanding and contracting to meet bottom-line objectives

Chicago Architecture Foundation, Open House Chicago

​Volunteer coordinator, Tribune Tower site: Wrote tour scripts for volunteer docents; wrote self-guided audio and online guide to building’s historic exterior; trained team of 30 volunteers who conducted tours for more than 50,000 visitors over the two-day event.
